Penguen Stewed Turkish Green Beans
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups of rice
- 1/4 cup extra virgin
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups of Penguin Turkish cut green beans with tomatoes
- 2 fresh tomatoes, diced
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup hot water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Prepare your rice and cook as per instructions.
- Heat olive oil in a pan and cook the onion until lightly sauteed.
- Add the cut beans with tomatoes and stir them until tender. (8-10 minutes)
- Add the tomato paste and garlic and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add water, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Cover the pan and cook on low until the beans are soft.
- Stir every 8-10 minutes and cook 40-45 mins.
- Serve with rice hot or as a side cold side dish.
