Where does Quinoa come from?

White Quinoa seeds are cleaned by machine to a high purity of greater than 99%. Sap is already removed from these seeds through a dual process of washing and friction. As a result, our quinoa is pre-washed for cooking and no soaking is required to remove sapoline. Our Quinoa seeds are grown in a high-altitude Andean mountain region by small Peruvian farmers using sustainable organic techniques. Our quinoa is grown in the northern and southern Andean mountain ranges of Peru at 11,000-13,000 ft. using local mountain water. Most of the quinoa grown in South America is dried and packed in unhygienic conditions. We dry our quinoa in a controlled environment, then use water and friction to remove the high-quality quinoa seeds. Most companies use only one method to remove the sap. Hence, not all quinoa is the same.

Our Quinoa seeds are naturally gluten-free and are a product of Peru.

What to do with Quinoa?

How much does 1 cup of Quinoa make?

Quinoa seeds expand about 3-4 times their original size in water, so 1 cup of uncooked quinoa seeds makes approximately 4 cups of cooked quinoa. Easy to make: 1 cup quinoa, 2 cups water or broth, done in about 10-15 minutes.

How to use?

Quinoa is a great substitute for rice, couscous, and can be eaten in numerous ways. Try adding it directly to salad, or make it into sandwich patties. It is a super addition to vegetarian diets!
