Matcha iri genmaicha is a blend of two iconic Japanese teas: matcha (powdered green tea) and genmaicha (sencha green tea blended with roasted brown rice). Our matcha in this blend is from Uji and is a Tencha grade tea, made from leaves of the Gyokuro (“Jade Dew”) Sencha harvest, which is shaded for 20 days prior to harvest and is considered to be of the highest quality.

- Our matcha iri genmaicha has a robust umami flavor and a vibrant green color. The teas are grown in Ujitawara, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan.
- The matcha is shade grown for 20 days prior to harvest. Both teas are machine harvested in mid-May, 2021 (first flush).
- The matcha is prepared by steaming, kneading, sieving, cutting, sorting, drying and stone milling. Then blended with First Flush (ichibancha) sencha and roasted Japanese brown rice.
- Produce of Japan, blended and packaged in USA. Naturally gluten free.
