Bel Paese in Italian means 'beautiful country'. In any other language it translates into 'a delicious cheese'. This semi-soft cheese of Italian origin is made from cow's milk, and is allowed to age for six to eight weeks. Bel Paese has awould usually use Mozzarella cheese. Bel Paese's uses are not limited to savory dishes though. It's frequently paired with fruity red or white wines and has gotten a reputation as being a dessert cheese. Serve slices with pears or figs and crusty French bread. A drizzle of honey and a sprinkling of chopped nuts can also bring out the sweeter side of this Italian classic.
