Cooking Tips

1. Bring 4 - 6 quarts of water to a rolling boil, add salt to taste.

2. Add contents of package to boiling water. Stir gently.

3. Return to a boil. For authentic "al dente" pasta, boil uncovered, stirring occasionally for 9 minutes. For more tender pasta, boil an additional 1 minute.

4. Remove from heat. Drain well.

5. Serve immediately with your favorite Barilla sauce.

Barilla Spaghetti Caprese-Style

1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.

2. Heat oil in skillet over medium heat.

3. Add garlic and red pepper flakes; stir for 1 to 2 minutes.

4. Add tomatoes and salt and pepper; reduce heat to low.

5. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6. Cook Spaghetti according to package directions; drain and return to pot.

7. Add hot pasta to skillet mixture.

8. Add cheese and stir until cheese is slightly melted.

9. Transfer to serving platter.

10. Garnish with oregano leaves.

Ingredients (Serves 8):

  • 16 oz. Barilla Spaghetti
  • 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/8 tsp. red chili pepper flakes
  • 6 plum tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper, freshly ground
  • 18-1 oz. fresh mozzarella cheese cubes
  • 2 tsp. fresh oregano, chopped

Barilla Spaghetti

with Marinara Sauce Fennel & Shrimp

1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.

2. Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat.

3. Add garlic and fennel sauté 2 to 4 minutes, or until fennel begins to soften.

4. Add shrimp sauté 5 to 8 minutes or until shrimp is cooked.

5. Add marinara sauce, salt and pepper continue cooking 3 to 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

6. Cook Spaghetti according to package directions and drain.

7. Toss spaghetti with fresh oregano.

Ingredients (Serves 4):

  • 16 oz. Barilla Spaghetti
  • 1 jar Barilla Marinara
  • 4 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced thin
  • 1 fennel bulb, sliced and trimmed
  • 1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tsp. fresh oregano, to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper, freshly ground
