In 2006, Michael and Paul Harney decided membership in 1% For The Planet would provide Harney & Sons with the opportunity to drive positive environmental change. Our production facility is located in Upstate New York surrounded by the Berkshire Range, minutes from the Appalachian Trail. As of this year Harney & Sons (with your help) will have donated nearly three and a half million dollars to 1% for the Planet.

Humble Beginnings
It’s been nearly four decades since John Harney developed a passion for fine teas. John began his journey in mastering the art of tea blending in his basement. The proprietor of an inn at the time, John served his distinctive blends to his guests; the rest, as they say, is history.
