The History of four major countries producing black tea

China, with the longest history of producing Black tea, has cultivated precious and plentiful tea types for the world since 17th century.

Whereas, the rest of the world such as India, Ceylon and Kenya started to produce Black Tea since mid 19th century, end of 19th century and beginning of 20th century respectively.

Q: What's the fundamental difference between Chinese Black Tea and the tea from other countries?

A: The processing technique.

Chinese Black Tea processing includes Primary processing and Refinement processing.

In India, Ceylon and Kenya, 90% of Black Tea are produced by CTC technique, which means crushing, tearing and curling the withered leaves at the same time by machines.
