***The batch we currently have is blooming! Crassula mesembryanthemoides is a South African succulent plant with long, pointed green leaves covered with soft bristle-like hairs giving it a fuzzy, frosted appearance. Mature plants start to take on a shrub-like formation. Crassula mesembryanthemoides needs bright, filtered light, porous soil with adequate drainage, and thorough watering when soil is completely dry. Be sure to protect these fuzzy leaves from frost in colder months! Photo credit: Debra Lee Baldwin ABOUT PACKAGE: Your package will be shipped in a box and meticulously bubblewrapped. When opening your package, some soil may be loose in the box. Plant orders are shipped within 3-5 days depending on availability of the plant. • This gave it the species name “mesembryanthemoides”, means looking like a Mesembryanthemum. The small flowers are pink, bell-shapes and grow in clusters in the top of the plant.
  • Crassula are easy to grow, but they are susceptible to mealy bugs and fungal diseases. As with all succulents, overwatering is sure to be fatal, so err on the side of too dry rather than too wet. Never let your Crassula sit in water. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. Crassula are generally started by division, offsets or leaf cuttings.
  • Plants can be easily propagated from a single leaf: sprout leaves by placing them into a succulent or cacti mix, then covering the dish until they sprout. Repot as needed, preferably during the warm season.
