“Ōra”, in the native Polynesian Māori language of New Zealand literally means “Be Well”. So The New Zealand King Salmon Company, named their ultra premium line of superior quality King Salmon, Ōra King Salmon. The rearing of this this sustainably farmed King Salmon begins inland, in spring-fed hatcheries. Then the young smolts are transferred to the cold, fast running waters of Marlborough Sound, where they are raised in deep water bays. This emulates the life cycle of the species in the wild from fresh water to salt. They have extremely low stocking densities a mere 2% fish to 98% water ratio allowing them maximized movement in a healthy environment. No GMOs, hormones, vaccines, chemicals, antibiotics and certainly no dies, are applied to either fish or feed. Ōra Kings are the largest of all salmon, boasting the highest levels of Omega-3 fatty acids. They are distinguished by the largest scales, and their flesh is softer and more delicate than other salmons such as the Atlantic and Coho. The flavor a of Ōra King Salmon is full, rich, with a buttery, silky texture and large, soft flakes. The New Zealand King Salmon Co. Ltd has achieved the world-leading Best Aquaculture Practices certification from The Global Aquaculture Alliance. Monterey Bay Aquarium’s globally respected consumer guide Seafood Watch has rated New Zealand’s “Ōra” King Salmon, as ”Green”, meaning it is a “Best Choice” for consumers. If only Steve Martin’s character in ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’, had access to nutrition that is as exclusive as this, he would not of had to act like a moron as the character, ‘Ruprect’, for Michael Cain. With all the natural Omega 3 oils in our outstanding salmon, his brain would have been more effective at finessing money out of rich women by himself. Each Salmon is carefully hand trimmed by removing the skin and bones, then portioned into 8 oz fillets. Then frozen and vacuum packed. 10 x 8 oz ŌRA NEW ZEALAND KING SALMON FILLETS per case. $219
